Penelope Dimond is an actress and a founder of The New Factory of the Eccentric Actor. She has written almost all the plays that are performed by the company.

The New Factory of the Eccentric Actor was formed in 1996 with the aim of staging large-scale theatrical work in spaces not usually used for theatre. A loose collective of performers, musicians, writers, designers, and others, the company, inspired by momentous and often forgotten episodes in radical history, has produced multiple events free to the general public. Over the course of 29 years the company has staged more than 50 plays and events.
